In a significant development for the digital asset industry, Swiss-based crypto custody technology firm Taurus has partnered with Turkey’s digital bank, BankPozitif. This collaboration will enable BankPozitif to leverage Taurus’ advanced custody technology to offer secure digital asset services to its clients.
Taurus has established itself as a leading provider of digital asset custody solutions, boasting an impressive roster of banking clients, including Deutsche Bank, CACEIS, Santander, and State Street. This latest agreement with BankPozitif marks another milestone in Taurus’ expanding global footprint.
Turkey has emerged as a key player in the cryptocurrency space, with approximately 26 million users actively engaging with digital assets. BankPozitif, which serves a customer base of two million, is well-positioned to address the growing demand for secure digital asset services. Amidst the continued depreciation of the Turkish lira, many investors are increasingly seeking alternative means to preserve the international value of their assets.
Dr. Erkan Kork, Chairman of BankPozitif, expressed optimism about the partnership, describing it as a pivotal step in the bank’s digital transformation journey. He emphasised that the integration of Taurus’ technology would allow the bank to meet the rising institutional demand for digital asset services while enhancing the overall customer experience.
This collaboration is not Taurus’ first foray into the Turkish market. Last year, the firm partnered with Misyon, a neobank start-up, further cementing its presence in the region. Moreover, BBVA Garanti, one of Turkey’s largest banks, introduced its own digital wallet solution last year and now offers retail cryptocurrency trading services.
The partnership between Taurus and BankPozitif underscores the increasing convergence of traditional banking with the digital asset ecosystem. As financial institutions worldwide continue to adopt and integrate blockchain technologies, such alliances are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the future of digital finance.
